Speed Control
Control the playback speed of your recordings for better pacing. Speed adjustments are applied per segment, so you can speed up boring parts and slow down important moments within the same recording.
Speed Range
Adjust playback speed from 0.25x (quarter speed) to 4.0x (quadruple speed):
| Speed | Effect | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| 0.25x | Very slow motion | Highlight a complex animation frame-by-frame |
| 0.5x | Half speed | Show a detailed procedure more clearly |
| 1.0x | Normal speed | Default — real-time playback |
| 1.5x | Slightly faster | Skip through straightforward sections |
| 2.0x | Double speed | Fast-forward through setup or loading |
| 4.0x | Maximum speed | Rush through long waits or repetitive actions |
Per-Segment Speed
Each video segment on the timeline can have its own speed setting. This means you can:
- Split your recording at the points where you want the speed to change (press
C) - Select each segment
- Adjust the speed using the slider in the Segment tab
The timeline automatically adjusts segment durations to reflect speed changes — a 10-second segment at 2x speed becomes 5 seconds in the final video.
Batch Speed Control
Select multiple segments and adjust speed for all of them at once. This is useful when you want to apply the same speed to several consecutive segments.
Tips
- Speed up, don’t cut — Instead of cutting out a long loading screen or installation process, speed it up to 4x. This gives viewers context about what happened without making them wait.
- Slow down key moments — When demonstrating a tricky step, slow it to 0.5x so viewers can follow along.
- Combine with zoom — Speed changes pair well with zoom effects. Speed up a section while zoomed out, then return to normal speed when zooming in on the important action.
