Share your recordings quickly after exporting.

Recorded can upload your exported video to the cloud and generate a shareable link. This feature is available on all plans (Free and Pro) and requires a Recorded account.

After uploading, you can copy the link in several formats:

  • Direct link — A simple URL to view the video
  • Embed code — Responsive HTML embed code for websites
  • Markdown — A Markdown-formatted link for documentation and README files

Each format can be copied to your clipboard with a single click.

Monthly Share Quota

Share link uploads count toward a monthly quota. Pro users have a higher monthly limit than free users. Your current usage is displayed in the share panel.

File Export

Alternatively, you can export recordings directly to a file on your computer. During export, Recorded opens a save dialog where you choose the destination. Exported files are saved to your chosen location and can be shared through any file-sharing method — email, messaging apps, cloud storage, etc.

Default Output Location

By default, recordings and their raw project files are saved to:

  • macOS: ~/Movies/Recorded/Recordings/
  • Windows: Videos\Recorded\Recordings\

Each recording is stored in its own folder named with the date, time, and captured window name (e.g., 2025-01-15_14-30-05,_Google Chrome/).
