Manage your Recorded license and unlock Pro features.
Free vs Pro
Recorded is free to use with some limitations. Upgrading to Pro removes these restrictions:

All editing features — zoom effects, cursor customization, backgrounds, webcam overlay, text, captions, speed control, and motion blur — are available in both Free and Pro. The main differences are export duration, watermark, and cloud sharing limits.
Activating a License
Through Purchase
- Purchase a Pro subscription through the Recorded website or in-app
- Log in to your Recorded account in the app (Settings > Account)
- Your Pro license is activated automatically based on your account
With a Coupon Code
- Open Settings > Account in the app
- Enter your coupon code in the redemption field
- The code activates Pro features immediately
Some coupon codes have a device limit — you can view and manage your registered devices in the account settings. If you reach the device limit, you can deactivate a device to free up a slot.
License Validation
Recorded validates your license periodically:
- License status is cached locally and re-validated every 24 hours
- The app works normally between validations — you don’t need to be online continuously
- If validation fails (e.g., due to network issues), your license remains active until the next successful check
Checking Status
View your current license status in Settings > Account. This shows:
- Whether you’re on Free or Pro
- Your account email
- Device management (for coupon-based licenses)
